Municipality of the department of Córdoba, is part of the heritage towns of the country due to its colonial architecture or as some call it, old or stately city.
It is part of the lower Sinú and is also a place known for being the capital of Bocachico, where it stands out for its richness and cultural diversity.
Among the places that stand out in this municipality are the Historic Center and the Public Market, considered Assets of National Cultural Interest.
The parks also stand out: the Malecón on the banks of the Sinú River, the Plaza de la Cruz, the Parque de las Aguas and the Plaza del Monumento.
Santa Cruz de Lorica breathes culture, which is why it is considered the land of writers such as Manuel Zapata Olivella and David Sánchez Juliao. Thus, as it is considered the cradle of the mother of Afro-Colombian folklore, Delia Zapata Olivella.
Its economy is mainly focused on livestock, leather work and tobacco.
