The musical and artistic talent of San Onofre shines in the cultural festivals of the region, thanks to the effort and dedication of the Training School and the group Sones de Torobé. These spaces of learning and artistic growth have managed to position the municipality in the first places of the Sheep Bagpipes Festival, standing out especially with its nursery of children and youth.
The gaita, an emblematic instrument of African culture, is the protagonist of these musical interpretations. Made of natural materials such as pitahaya or cardon, the bagpipe features a mouthpiece made of turkey or duck feathers, and a head made of montuna beeswax mixed with charcoal powder. With this instrument, the musicians of San Onofre are able to produce captivating melodies that are complemented by percussion instruments and maracas.
The group Sones de Torobé, with more than 30 years of experience, is made up of teaching graduates and researchers committed to the preservation and dissemination of folk music. These talented artists are responsible for guiding and guiding the nurseries of young performers, providing them with musical training and fostering love for the cultural traditions of the municipality.
In addition to the music, the group Sones de Torobé is also dedicated to the accompaniment of the dance groups, bringing the essence and joy of folk dance to each presentation. With their experience and knowledge, these masters of music and dance promote the artistic development of young people, inspiring them to keep alive the cultural traditions of San Onofre.
The commitment and talent of the School of Formation and the group Sones de Torobé have been fundamental to preserve and promote culture and folklore in San Onofre. Thanks to their dedication, the young people of the community have the opportunity to learn, grow and excel in the artistic field, bearing the name of the municipality high in each presentation and cultural festival in which they participate.
