The House of Culture of San Antero was established in 1998 as a space dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the cultural manifestations of the region. In this institution, various training processes and practices related to folk dances and music are carried out, thus contributing to the preservation of traditions and the cultural enrichment of the community.
For several years, the Casa de la Cultura played a fundamental role in the organization of the National Donkey Festival, an emblematic event for the municipality. However, over time, the festival was decentralized, which allowed other entities and organizations to become involved in its organization.
The building of the House of Culture consists of a single floor and has a central nave or auditorium that is used for various dance and music practices. This versatile space adapts to the needs of different artistic disciplines and can host presentations, rehearsals, and music and dance classes. In addition, it has an area reserved for protocol during meetings and special events.
At the back of the Casa de la Cultura are the bathrooms and areas for changing clothes and storing musical instruments. These additional facilities provide comfort and functionality to artists and participants in cultural activities.
The House of Culture of San Antero, together with the Municipal Public Library that is next to it, become meeting and learning spaces, where access to culture, reading and artistic training is encouraged. These institutions are important pillars for the cultural development of the community and contribute to the identity and cultural enrichment of the municipality.
