San Antero is recognized for its white sand beaches in Cispatá Bay. It is the only municipality with resident coastal dolphins in Colombia.

Its main economic activities are agriculture, followed by livestock, fishing, trade and tourism. In addition to having a wonderful variety of mangrove forests and flora and fauna.

The first settlers of San Antero were the indigenous community of Finzenú, belonging to the Zenú culture, family of the Caribs.

The municipality is also recognized for holding the Donkey Festival, an event organized every year during Holy Week.

Similarly, it is an area with great activity in agriculture with products such as corn, rice, coconut and livestock. In addition to carrying out fishing activities and developing handcrafted pieces.
