The Civil Society Nature Reserve is an invaluable treasure in terms of natural heritage and environmental conservation. The Sanguaré Civil Society Reserve is surrounded by approximately 300 hectares of mangroves, which include various species such as red mangrove, white smoke, zaragoza and pineapple mangrove. These mangroves are a crucial habitat for a wide variety of local and migratory birds, providing a refuge and food source for these species.
In addition to the mangroves, the reserve houses 110 hectares of tropical dry forest, characterized by thorny shrubs and the presence of wine palms, camajón, majagua, orejeros and ceiba bonga. In this environment, it is possible to find a diversity of species, including sloths, anteaters, squirrels, tigrilles, deer, raccoons and armadillos, among other fascinating animals. A significant part of the reserve, approximately 80 hectares, corresponds to floodplains and natural lagoons. These aquatic spaces host a wide range of species, such as frogs, baby animals, caimans, needles and chigüiros. In addition, you can see butterflies, bats, dragonflies and insects, being the school one of the most outstanding species.
In addition, the reserve has a beautiful white sand beach, characterized by a soft surf and vegetation of the beaches, such as coconut trees, beach uvita and almond trees. This combination of natural elements makes the beach a charming place to enjoy nature and relax.
