Santiago de Tolú is one of the oldest urban centers in Colombia and is considered the natural capital of the Gulf of Morrosquillo.

The municipality was founded in 1535 with the name of Villa Coronada Tres Veces de Santiago de Tolú, due to the colonial administration of the time.

It is a place recognized for its artisanal fishing activity, in addition to offering typical dishes such as shellfish and snapper. Likewise, it has an area where cotton, corn, cassava and soybeans are sporadically planted.

It stands out for the Ciénaga de la Leche, the French Beach, the Palo Blanco Beach and the white sand beaches.
